Kirk Hallam, Derby
Fairways Sportsgrounds created a new full size synthetic pitch at Kirk Hallam, Derby which has been tested to FIFA 1 & 2 star and is awaiting final results. The new pitch uses an Edel Grass FIFA 1* & 2* certificated surface called Super Blade 57. The carpet was installed on to an engineered base. The contract was completed in early spring 2011 The centre was recently opened and is used extensively by the adjoining school and local community. Because the pitch has permanent inlaid lines and a divider system with a switch-able eight column floodlight system, it is a very flexible surface. It can therefore be used for full size, seven-a-side or nine- a-side games.
