Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh
New for spring 2013, Fairways Sportsgrounds has completed construction of a new IRB22/FIFA 1* compliant 3G Pitch on an unbound stone base at Meadowbank Sports Centre for Edinburgh City. The brand new Fifa 1* pitch accommodates 11-a-side games or three 7-a-side pitches and features floodlighting and 3G turf. Due to its larger size, the new pitch is also suitable for rugby training.
According to Edinburgh Leisure who run the venue this is a fantastic addition to Meadowbank and the local communities surrounding the centre. Leith Athletic FC have been chosen as the home club but the pitch will also be available for use by the wider Edinburgh community. Together with Leith Athletic, Edinburgh Leisure will also be hosting a Midnight League for local youngsters
