St Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats
Fairways Sportsgrounds has brought the sports facilities at St Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats up to a standard where upon they are among the best in the country. Working with main contractor, Barr Construction Ltd, this £1.1m project was completed in Summer 2007. It comprises a full size multi-use synthetic grass pitch which can be used for both hockey and football; an International Amateur Athletics Federation standard synthetic running track, which includes a natural grass infield suitable for football, and four seven-a-side natural grass football pitches. As well as the new installations, Fairways Sportsground was called upon to refurbish four existing natural grass pitches adjacent to the site which now belong to the local community.
